The Journey Begins
At the end of 2013 just before Christmas I had my heart set on going travelling for a year, by the beginning of 2014 I had flights & tickets booked to travel Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji & America. Unfortunately, due to an injury I had to return home after New Zealand, thankfully it was during my last month of travels.
Initially it was a big step for me, having never flew alone or outside of Europe prior to this, it really was a step onto an unfamiliar & daunting path.
For the next few articles listed under the category ‘travelling’ I will be looking over the past year & choosing the highlights of my adventures by representing each destination with a few favourite photos. Many were taken & it’s hard to pick my ultimate favourites however these definitely sum up an experience I won’t forget.
I am no photographer by any means, however I have always had a keen interest in photography and for my travels I thought a DSLR would be too large to carry around. As I was staying in hostels along the way it would be too much of an inconvenience, so I opted for the Sony RX100, which suited me perfectly to take high quality photos but not too large to carry with me everywhere.
During my journey I also posted a lot of photos via my Instagram which are a lot of ‘best of’ photos too, so feel free to follow me @michaelrosee and for whatever reason you would like to use any of the photos from my travels for your own personal use then feel free to do so.
Once I am healed & am financially stable to travel again I most definitely will & would recommend anyone thinking to do so the same, bite the bullet!
